Effective Government

Meeting the needs of the 21st century society

In considering how any society establishes, enhances and drives prosperity, few things are more critical than effective government. Whilst the challenges facing modern governments are numerous, the need to provide effective public services is common to each and every one of them. Understanding how and why some nations succeed whilst some fail in delivering key services like education and welfare can help inform our own approaches to policymaking.

Chaired by Gisela Stuart, our Effective Government programme examines what the UK can learn from the most successful models of government in operation around the world, in order to improve the outcomes of key public services for a population that relies on them.
